Purpose

We weigh, analyze and motivate ourselves to reach for that unreachable star... We plan, compromise and make necessary changes to stay on the right path... We compete against time, others and even ourselves to make sure that we are not left behind... From an outsider's perspective we have direction in life, we achieve our goals and set an example for all others to follow, we lead the laggards, we give them heroes and enjoy the fanfare they throw at us....

But we go to sleep, and dream of another reality... We are paupers and have no aim in life… We live in a dump with piles of dirty clothes everywhere, last weeks leftovers still rotting away on the counter, this weeks workload untouched and unthought-of ... We live the day, we find joy in everything we do, and have no regrets. We have no heroes, no ethics, and no principles. We are not bound by our conscience, by social norms, by rules and regulations. We live to see the sun shine in the east, to feel the winds blow through our hair, to hear the birds sing in the morning, to smell the fragrance of a handpicked flower and to taste the sweet kisses of our lovers…

“Wake up!!! Its morning already…. Wake up!!! You have to go to work….. Wake up!!! The kids are getting late to go to school…. Wake up!!! It’s your first day as the CEO… Wake up!!! You became a grandfather… Wake up!!! Your partner just died… Wake up!!! Your youngest kid is a drug addict… Wake up!!! It’s a nice day to die”

  • Oh...to put it very simply and bluntly, we place way to much importance on our selves.... our universe... when can we open our eyes and realize we don't matter a shit, we are one in six billion living on an over-crowded planet, having no different aspirations than those which are shared by a million others, having thoughts that are in no way unique or important, stuck in some distant corner of the galaxy, in a real universe with a zibillion stars....

Maybe this exaggerated self importance is what drives us? Fuck it I say, its time enough for everyone to take a step back and drink a good dose of humbleness, to see around and realize the world is more than you, yourself, and yours truly.

Harsh words, but whenever was truth easy on the ears?

  • Is there a "real/ valid" purpose for our existance at all?... or is it merely an unfillfilled quest to satisfy our sensory wants and needs and those of who are tagged by the prefix "mine" (the best possible way we can).

The lack of concrete purpose makes us fill this vacuum with temporary "targets/ goals/ ambitions" that are bloated up by the artificial meaning we infuse into them... Or i need to write a book/ a reserch paper/ make a new invention / climb up the career ladder /be a voice for the voiceless....

However, in this quagmire "aritifical purposes" some may say that some goals are more noble than others. Some say that making a difference in the lives of others (alteast a small dent in the lives of a few) is on a higher moral plane than merely leading the medeiocre fattening bank accnt and climing the "social strata ladder" to oblivion...
But, is this true? It is merely the degree of "self centeredness that differs in each".. Many revolutions to change the conditions of the down trodden fail because the masterminds of revolution are merely doing it for the intoxicating feeling of ammasing power..... and even if u do it sincerely and alleviate say poverty..... the smae ppl to who u played massaih are anyways going to turn into grave diggers trying to fill the expectation gap....

So what is real/ permanent/ valid purpose thatis unconditioned by so called needs/ wants/ priorities and emotions at a given time?

If there is NO "real"/ valid purpose in living, either for one self/ others then may b purpose lies in the ceasation of "living".... in the ceasation of trying to fill the "expectation gap"... in the ceasation of being controlled by our 5 senses............
