Isnt it amazing that sometimes we are as gregorious as old people in a nursing home. We go out of our way to make sure that people we once knew are still alive, we call them and yell at them for never giving us a call.... we go through our unread emails and reply those ones that didnt quite seem so important at the time... we flick through our phonebook to see whether there is someone interesting to talk to....
But then cometh the deadlines, the critiques that are due tomorrow, the paper which is due at midnight, the obscure language that you will never use but some fellow wants you to learn by the weekend. Out the window goes our acquaintances... family... friends... whoever heard of them... all we hear of is Multidimensional mind-warping by J.Doe et. al.
Rrring.... Rrring... what is that? an alien sound... something is ringing... wait its in my pocket... ah, someone is calling... "Hello"... "Yes I'm alive"... "Sorry dude, I've been...." and the wheel turns....
Global village... yeah right!!! The modern day is nothing more than a galaxy filled with a million private worlds.
